CATALOGING

1. When the histories initially come in, put them into a storage container or a box.
2. Download the list of principal wars of the United States.

   1. Revolutionary War, 1775-17783
   2. War of 1812, 1812-1815
   3. Mexican War, 1846-1848
   4. Civil War, 1861-1865
   5. Spanish/American War, 1898
   6. World War 1, April 6, 1917-Nov. 11 1918
   7. World War 2, Dec. 7, 1941-Dec. 31, 1946
   8. Korean War, June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953
   9. Vietnam War, August 4, 1964-Jan. 27, 1973
   10. Persian Gulf War, 1991
   11. Iraq War, 2003-to date
       Please note the corresponding number to your specific war.
3. Place histories in file folders. First print the number of the war on the file folder. Then print the name of the veteran/last name first.
4. Now file them alphabetically.
   Note * You may want to file all of them together or you may want to put all of the same numbers together and file alphabetically within the number. That is up to you and your veteran post.
